Founder’s Spotlight: Liieve

Lieve Saether, founder of Liieve, envisioned a high quality, timeless dress shirt with the ability to exchange thoughtfully designed, exquisitely crafted decorative collars to allow women to express their individuality. With a never wavering commitment to quality and execution of her vision, we are overjoyed to congratulate Lieve on the launch of her collection.

What inspired you to start your business?

My love for the power and capacity of women, really. As a female who has had the distinct privilege of custom designing homes for twenty years, I got to know my clients and their life frustrations well. Too many women seem unsatisfied by fast fashion and what is available in the marketplace. Women should feel good - certainly when getting dressed, so I set out not only to change that, but to give them joyful convertibility so that they can play. Our brand reimagines a classic giving it better fit, while our collars add a unique component that celebrates women’s individuality.

What challenges have you overcome along the way?

Getting fit, fabric and all the many details right took lots of time. I am very specific in what I want, so I would say getting what was in my head into the world - and realized, was probably our first biggest hurdle. To be able to see that achieved, has been enormously rewarding.

Do you have any advice for others looking to start their own business?

Distill and refine what you want to offer and focus in on doing one thing well. As new business owner, one can easily get distracted and out of touch with our value proposition. Don’t allow yourself to veer to far from your determined goal. This will serve both you and the quality of your product offering well.
